Zur Geschichte des Colnago Super Rahmens kann man recht viel sagen. Der "Super" war sozusagen der Durchbruch von Ernesto Colnago. Die Geometrie seines erstmals 1968 vorgestellten Rahmens war revolutionär. Ernesto Colnago verkürzte den Radstand seines Rahmens extrem. Sein Ziel war es, einen Rahmen zu bauen, der schlichtweg leichter, steifer und agiler zu fahren war. Colnago gilt auch heute noch als "Tüftler". Er war und ist immer auf der Suche nach der Verbesserung im Rahmenbau. Ein Rahmen ging immer erst in Serie, wenn er wirklich „perfekt" war. Den Super Rahmen gab es fast 20 Jahre im Angebot des traditionsreichen Unternehmens aus Norditalien. Er wurde über die Jahre zwar immer mal wieder leicht verändert, die Grundidee blieb aber. 1979 überreichte Colnago sogar dem Papst eines seiner legendären Räder. Heute haben diese Rahmen unter Sammlern einen absoluten Kultstatus. Auf dem Colnago Super erreichte beispielsweise Eddy Merckx viele seine großen Erfolge.

Das hier vorgestellte Rad ist im absoluten Originalzustand aus dem Jahre 1984 und im typischen und wunderschönen "Saronni Rot" lackiert. GIUSEPPE SARONNI wurde in diesen Farben 1982 Weltmeister und machte damit das dunkle Rot legendär. Der Rahmen hat noch die ältere Form der Gabel, die deutlich filigraner ist, als die spätere "Massenware". Alleine die lange Gabelscheide mit dem Colnago Logo auf der Innenseite ist schon einen Blick wert.

Aufgebaut ist das Rad mit der edelsten Campagnolo Gruppe der damaligen Zeit. Die Super Record passt hier einfach perfekt. Anhand des Zustands der Gruppe kann man erkennen, wie wenig das Rad gefahren wurden. Die kleineren Lackmacken, die der Rahmen aufzeigt, kommen alleine von der Lagerung des Rades. Ein Highlight sind sich die tollen Hochflansch Naben oder die edle Everst Kette oder das pantographierte Kettenblatt. Der Datacode der Kurbel stimmt mit dem des Schaltwerks überein. 1984. Alle Parts sind in einem wirklich herausragenden Zustand.

Das Rad ist komplett original erhalten - selbst die dicken alten Campagnolo Brems,- Schaltzüge sind noch die Ersten aus ´84!

This Colnago Super from 1984 is in excellent original condition. Say the paint and the decals are still the first from the year '84!

There is a lot to say about the history of the Colnago Super frame. The "Super" was Ernesto Colnago's breakthrough, so to speak. First introduced in 1968, the geometry of his frame was revolutionary. Ernesto Colnago made the wheelbase of his frame extremely short. His goal was to build a frame that was simply lighter, stiffer and more agile to ride. Colnago is still considered a "tinkerer" today. He was and is always looking for improvement in frame construction. A frame always went into series production only when it was really "perfect". The Super frame was available for almost 20 years in the range of the traditional company from northern Italy. Over the years, it was changed slightly from time to time, but the basic idea remained. In 1979, Colnago even presented the Pope with one of its legendary bikes. Today, these frames have an absolute cult status among collectors. On the Colnago Super, for example, Eddy Merckx achieved many of his great successes.

The bike presented here is in absolute original condition from 1984 and painted in the typical and beautiful "Saronni Red". GIUSEPPE SARONNI became world champion in these colors in 1982 and made the dark red legendary. The frame still has the older shape of the fork, which is much more delicate than the later "mass-produced". Alone the long fork sheath with the Colnago logo on the inside is already worth a look.

The wheel is built with the noblest Campagnolo group of the time. The Super Record fits here just perfectly. From the condition of the group you can see how little the wheel were driven. The smaller paint marks that show the frame, come solely from the storage of the wheel. A highlight are the great high flange hubs or the noble Everst chain or the pantographed chainring. The datacode of the crank matches that of the rear derailleur. All parts are in a really outstanding condition.

The bike is completely original - even the thick old Campagnolo brake, shift cables are still the first from '84!
