Bianchi ist das älteste noch existierende Fahrradunternehmen der Welt, das 1885 von Eduardo Bianchi in Mailand, Italien, gegründet wurde. Mit dem Namen und dem typischen "Celeste" verbindet wohl jeder, der den Radsport und alte Rennmaschinen liebt, etwas.
In der gesamten 135-jährigen Geschichte von Bianchi stellen die Namen "Campione del mondo" und etwas später dann die "Specialissima" Modelle den Höhepunkt der Straßenmaschinen-Legende dar. Die "Specialissima" Rahmen wurde Ende der 1950er Jahre als Nachfolger des berühmten Modells "Campione del mondo" eingeführt und ist bis heute Bianchis Topmodell.

Anfang der 1970er Jahre kehrte Bianchi als Hauptsponsor des Bianchi-Campagnolo-Teams in das Profi-Peloton zurück. Die Mannschaft war die Fortsetzung der Mannschaft Salvarani unter der Leitung von Vittorio Adorni, dem Sieger des Giro d'Italia von 1965 und Weltmeister von 1968. Die Mannschaft Bianchi-Campagnolo war damals eine der stärksten Mannschaften mit den Weltmeistern Marino Basso und Felice Gimondi 1972 und 1973 an Bord.
Das hier vorgestellte Rad stammt aus dem Jahre 1977 - wobei der Datacode doppelt gestempelt ist - Oktober ´77 sollte aber stimmen - und ist einer dieser tollen Campione del Mondo 12V Rahmen. Nicht ganz so leicht wie die Specialissima Modelle, aber dennoch wunderschön und nahezu identisch gebaut. Ich bekam das Rad bzw. den Rahmen in einem, mit schwarzen "Spraydosenlack" überzogen Zustand. Die Idee dahinter wird wohl das Geheimnis des Vorbesitzers bleiben. Die Substanz war aber gut und nahezu alle originalen Teile mussten "nur" von der Farbe gereinigt werden. (Bilder in der Galerie). Der Rahmen wurde dann bei der Firma Velociao vollständig restauriert. Robert ist hier ein absoluter Könner und die Lackierung ist sehr gut geworden. Der Farbton - das Celeste - passt einfach, die roten Bianchi Schriftzüge sind lackiert - tolle Arbeit. Normalerweise bin ich kein Freund von Neulackierungen, bei diesem Rahmen ging es aber nicht anders und wenn das Ergebnis dann so aussieht, lohnt es sich definitiv.

Aufgebaut wurde das Rad dann mit den originalen Anbauteilen aus 1977. Die Campagnolo Nuovo /Super Record Gruppe, die eigentlich eher den Specialissima Modellen vorbehalten war, findet man auch an einigen CDM Modellen. Der Laufradsatz mit den edlen Mavic Felgen und ist in Gipiemme "Bianchi" Naben eingespeicht ist in einem tollen Zustand. Der seltene 3ttt Ledersattel ist nach 45 Jahren noch in eine top Zustand. Auch das pantographierte 3ttt Cockpit und die gravierte Sattelstütze sind aus der Zeit. Alle Anbauteile sind in einem tollen Zustand und passen wunderbar an diesen liebevoll restaurierten Rahmen.

Dieser tolle, restaurierte Klassiker ist zum Fahren fast zu schade. Sollten sie es doch einmal machen, werden alle anderen Radfahrer ihnen wohl anerkennende Blicke zuwerfen.

BIANCHI "CAMPIONE DEL MONDO 12V" October 1977

Bianchi is the oldest still existing bicycle company in the world, founded in 1885 by Eduardo Bianchi in Milan, Italy. The name and the typical "Celeste" are probably associated with everyone who loves cycling and old racing machines.
In the entire 135-year history of Bianchi, the names "Campione del mondo" and then a little later the "Specialissima" models represent the pinnacle of the road bike legend. The "Specialissima" frame was introduced in the late 1950s as the successor to the famous "Campione del mondo" model and remains Bianchi's top model to this day.

In the early 1970s, Bianchi returned to the professional peloton as the main sponsor of the Bianchi-Campagnolo team. The team was a continuation of the Salvarani team led by Vittorio Adorni, winner of the 1965 Giro d'Italia and 1968 World Champion, and the Bianchi-Campagnolo team was one of the strongest teams at the time with 1972 and 1973 World Champions Marino Basso and Felice Gimondi on board.
The bike presented here is from 1977 - though the datacode is stamped twice - October '77 should be correct though - and is one of those great Campione del Mondo 12V frames. Not quite as light as the Specialissima models, but still beautiful and almost identically built. I got the bike/frame in a, covered with black "spray can paint" condition. The idea behind this will probably remain the secret of the previous owner. But the substance was good and almost all original parts had to be cleaned "only" from the paint. (Pictures in the gallery). The frame was then completely restored at Velociao. Robert is an absolute expert here and the paint job turned out very well. The color - the Celeste - just fits, the red Bianchi lettering is painted - great job. Normally I'm not a friend of repainting, but with this frame it was no different and if the result then looks like this, it is definitely worth it.

The bike was then built with the original parts from 1977. The Campagnolo Nuovo / Super Record group, which was actually reserved for the Specialissima models, can also be found on some CDM models. The wheelset with the noble Mavic rims and is spoked in Gipiemme "Bianchi" hubs is in great condition. The rare 3ttt leather saddle is after 45 years still in a top condition. The pantographed 3ttt cockpit and engraved seatpost are also from the era. All attachments are in great condition and fit beautifully on this lovingly restored frame.

This great restored classic is almost too bad to ride. Should they do it once, all other cyclists will probably give them appreciative looks.
